Brave: A Word Prompt

I didn't know that you were being brave.  I didn't know how much weight sat behind your words.
I was just innocently scrolling through Facebook and I kept seeing it, "me too.  me too.  me too." and I didn't understand.  I just kept scrolling.  I didn't know why those two words made me so emotional until I saw an explanation and suddenly I knew.  I could say it too.

For those of you who live under a rock, the "me too" posts that flooded social media earlier this month were in response to "Me too.  If all the men and women who have been sexually harassed or assaulted wrote "me too" as a status, we might give people a sense of the magnitude of the problem."
Every person who posted those two words is braver than you'll ever know.  Every person who could have posted those two words but didn't is braver than you'll ever know.

I know that this is a little different from last weeks post but I haven't been able to get this out of my head.  I'm still working through what I want this blog to be and I appreciate those of you who are willing to go through this process with me.  As usual, if you have any prompts and/or feedback I would love to hear it.  And I have decided to focus on non-fiction for a while so I would love it if your prompts could focus on that.

Thank you.

<3 Ellen
