Gmorning, Gnight!

Book 1 of 2019 down, 49 to go.

Most everyone who knows me knows of my great love for Lin-Manuel Miranda. It's enough of a thing that whenever I tell my fiancé that I'm looking at the love of my life he always asks when Lin showed up. I would get mad if it weren't so justified, I talk about the man a lot. Also, a job I would really love would be to be Lin-Manuel Miranda's assistant. Can you imagine? I'd get to hang out with him and meet all of the amazing people he works with and his super awesome wife and adorable kids. I'd get paid to interact with him. Can. You. Imagine!? I'll move on now, because that is not what this blog post is about.

I do not know how long ago Lin started doing his good morning and good night tweets, but I have loved them for as long as I have known about them. It was a sad day in my life when he could no longer autopost his tweets to Facebook and I stopped seeing them everyday. I'm sure you're wondering why I didn't just get on Twitter, and the answer is because of my immense talent of wasting time on the Internet. I couldn't justify getting onto yet another social media platform for two tweets most days considering how much time I would spend outside of those tweets. But now I have a book of some of those tweets that I love so much with lovely illustrations by Jonny Sun and all is right with the world.

The book is a quick read, about 200 pages with a tweet or two per page, but it is so wonderful. I read it in public so I had to fight back tears a lot because it's just... so nice. I don't have much else to say about the book. It's lovely and everyone should get it in my opinion. It's in the Personal Growth section of Barnes & Noble if anyone was wondering.

There weren't any typos that I noticed in the book, so that's not a hill I'll need to be willing to die on today.

And I'll finish up with a few takeaways from the book.

We all feel doubt and anxiety, even the people who look like they've made it. And every day we have a chance to work harder and get better when we wake up in the morning. It's not too late to start on those resolutions no matter what month it is. It's never too late to start doing whatever it is you want to do. It's never too later to start loving yourself for the amazing things you are doing now.
And, no matter what, never forget that Lin-Manuel Miranda believes in you.

XO, Ellen
