Past Perfect, Present Tense by Richard Peck

Some of you may know of Richard Peck's work through "A Long Way From Chicago" and "A Year Down Yonder", at least that's how I knew of him. And since I loved both of those books I was very excited to find a book of his short stories.

And let me tell you, he did not disappoint. Each and every story is amazing. And he gives beautiful advice to writers throughout the book. Even as each story ended the book was almost impossible to put down, I just wanted to see what he wrote next.

I won't say much more because I'm posting this so late (at least for me, since I normally post in the morning) but I want to express how much I loved reading this collection. I'm trying to cut down on buying books but I just keep reading books that are so lovely and I want to own them!

Richard Peck is amazing, I feel inspired, and it was all around just so lovely to read this collection.

XO, Ellen
