Stay Sexy & Don't Get Murdered by Karen Kilgariff and Georgia Hardstark

In this co-written memoir Karen Kilgariff and Georgia Hardstark, hosts of the amazing podcast "My Favorite Murder", tell us the stories of their lives of what made them the Murderinos* they are today and how to "Stay Sexy & Don't Get Murdered**". Each chapter of the book is based off of a popular phrase from the show and is chock full of both serious and hilarious stories. If you have listened to and enjoyed the podcast then this is definitely a book for you!

I loved reading this book, my only regret is that I didn't get it sooner! The stories expand on ideas mentioned in the podcasts and flesh out stories that we've only gotten hints of. The writing was spectacular and I enjoyed every minute of it. It does swear a lot, which shouldn't come as a surprise to fans of the podcast, but may make the book uncomfortable for some readers, so it's something to keep in mind. Karen and Georgia are amazing people that have gone through some crazy things to become the spectacular people they are today. I'm just so glad they decided to sit down and make a podcast about true crime and that that decision has led to the most amazing community of people across the world.

Again, this is definitely a good book for you if you've loved the podcast. If you haven't listened to the podcast there is a lot of context to these stories that would probably cause the book to be confusing. But I adored it, it was a super quick read and I had a blast the whole time. Karen and Georgia are amazing and I love listening to them every week. And thank you to my wonderful friends that introduced me to this podcast, you were right to think I would love it. And soon I'll actually get caught up to the episodes they release every week haha

XO, Ellen

*Murderino is the term used to describe fans of the podcast and more broadly, fans of true crime that until the fairly recent true crime boom felt they were alone in their interests.

**This isn't only the title of the memoir, but the sign off phrase of every episode of the podcast.
