My Sister the Serial Killer by Oyinkan Braithwaite
Korede has always taken care of Ayoola, as all older sisters should. But maybe she took it a bit far as she cleaned the scene of Ayoola's third murder. Nevertheless, she coaches her younger sister through how to talk to the police, what she can and can't post on social media as she should be mourning her "missing" boyfriend, until all their problems fade into the background. Until Ayoola starts to date a handsome doctor that Korede has been in love with since they started working at the hospital together. Korede knows that he's in danger, but will she be able to choose him over her sister?
This novel is absolutely breathtaking. Everything from the pacing to the character development to the plot is absolutely perfect and engrossing and beautiful. This is a serial killer story as you have never seen before; we don't get the story through the eyes of the killer or the man determined to catch them, we see the story through the eyes of the enabler as she allows her sisters killing to continue unchecked. There wasn't a moment of this story that went as expected and it was an absolute joy to read.
I would absolutely recommend this book, but make sure to free up your schedule, because you're going to want to read this in a single sitting. And I must thank Caroline again for always giving the best book recommendations, you're the best <3
XO, Ellen
