Upright Women Wanted by Sarah Gailey

In a society where having "Unapproved Materials", or being best friends with someone caught with them, is a hanging offense, Esther has to run. And where better to run than to the Librarians, the women that travel from city to city, town to town, spreading "Approved Materials" and news. But the Librarians are nothing like Esther had been led to believe, but they might be exactly what she should have been looking for from the beginning.

Do you like stories about Queer ladies coming to understand their queerness and that it is ok to be a lady that likes other ladies? Then read this book! It is beautiful and emotional and I loved it a lot. In less than 200 pages Sarah Gailey creates an entire world full of characters we love and trials we hope they overcome. This is a book I will read again and again and if you have read this book I would love to talk about it cause the amount of depth Gailey went into in 176 pages is mind boggling and I would like to have someone to discuss it with.

XO, Ellen

P.S. I am sorry my posts have been so short lately, throughout all this global pandemic craziness I been having a really rough time mentally and I have a tendency to rant about negative things when I'm sad, so in an attempt to counteract that I have been trying to keep my posts positive so I don't spiral too much. I hope my brain will start being better soon but who knows, so thank you for sticking with me as we get through this madness together and I hope to get back to essays about what makes YA, YA and other such topics soon <3
